About

Koç Cedar Natural Monument is a monumental cedar in the Çığlıkara Nature Conservation Area in the Elmalı district of Antalya. Standing at the Tavşanalanı locality of Kızılağaç, the tree was given natural monument status in 1995, and the 0.25 hectares around it were brought under protection. Its value lies in its size, age and exceptional growth. Reported to be 625 years old, the cedar is notable for its height of 35.4 m; its trunk diameter is 1.91 m. To visit, travel first to Elmalı and then by private vehicle to Kızılağaç and the Tavşanalanı site. There are no facilities. Within the conservation area, only scientific research is permitted.
