Aslan Juniper Natural Monument

Aslan Juniper Natural Monument is a monumental juniper at the Tekke Boğazı locality within the boundaries of Tekke, in the Elmalı district of Antalya. Declared a natural monument in 1995, it is surrounded by a protected area of 0.25 hectares. The source gives the juniper's age as 1,725 years; it is 23.2 m tall with a trunk diameter of 3.03 m. These dimensions, its age and its exceptional growth are regarded as its main values. To reach it, travel first to Elmalı and then by private vehicle via the Çığlıkara Nature Conservation Area and Tekke to Tekke Boğazı. There are no visitor facilities. As the tree stands in a nature conservation area, the site is used only for scientific research.
