About
Settlement on the castle slope in central Nevşehir, uncovered in 2014 during urban renewal and declared an archaeological site. It includes about 1,000 rock-cut rooms, an underground city, a rock church with frescoes, passage tunnels, water channels and rock tombs; excavations recovered 1,271 artefacts. It is within walking distance of the city centre.
