About
Turkey's largest freshwater lake, about 650 km² in area, lying between Konya and Isparta provinces. It is 45 km long and 20 km wide, holds 32 islets of various sizes and is an important area for many bird species. Its surroundings form Lake Beyşehir National Park. Drought in recent years has pushed the shoreline back by about 300 m.
