About

The Titrek Kavak Natural Monument is a large poplar tree in Yakamanastır Nature Park, within the boundaries of Bademli village in the Beyşehir district of Konya, registered in 1994. It is 8 kilometres from Beyşehir and 3 kilometres from Bademli. The deep hollow at the base of the trunk draws visitors' attention; animals such as squirrels sometimes shelter in it, and picnickers often take photos in front of the tree. The surrounding forest is a mix of black pine, fir and juniper. Hare, fox, wolf, partridge, quail and stork occur, along with raptors such as eagles, buzzards and kestrels; great and blue tits, chaffinches and nuthatches live in the conifer woods, while snow finch and chukar partridge are common on the higher ground reaching 2,000 metres. Nearby there are monumental tree points, a forest lodge, a country restaurant, a kiosk, a prayer room, picnic units and a children's playground.
