Milas, in western Muğla, was one of the main towns of ancient Caria. The Temple of Zeus at Euromos, Iasos, Labranda and Beçin Castle are in the district, and it is known for Milas carpets and olive oil. The coastal villages of Ören and Güllük and Milas–Bodrum Airport are here too.
