About

Karataş Nature Park lies about 2 km east of the town centre in the Karataş district of Adana, 49 km from the city of Adana. The 29.87-hectare area was designated a nature park on 11 July 2011. Its value comes from combining a seafront location with an extensive forest cover. The vegetation is Mediterranean secondary maquis, with red pine, kermes oak, carob, myrtle, bay laurel and oleander as the main species. Golden jackal, red fox, hedgehog and Indian crested porcupine are among the animals found here. The park is equipped with a visitor information centre, a country restaurant, cabins, forest lodges, a kiosk, showers and changing cabins, a children's play area, and both tent and caravan camping grounds. Its trails are used for hiking and trekking, and orienteering, outdoor events, nature education, photography and sightseeing are also possible.
