About
Adana Atatürk House Museum is located in the Seyhan district of Adana, in the historic Tepebağ Mansion, also known as the Suphi Pasha Mansion. Of Atatürk's nine visits to the city, he stayed here during two, in 1923 and 1925. The two-storey house, built of brick and stone in the 19th century, shows the features of traditional Adana homes. The mansion became the Atatürk Science and Culture Museum in 1976 and opened as the Atatürk House Museum in 1981. Repaired after earthquake damage, it reopened in 2003. On display are large-format photographs of Atatürk's trips to Adana, objects from the Kuva-yi Milliye (National Forces) period, ethnographic items and newspapers of the time; one room is devoted to the liberation of Hatay. Atatürk's arrival in the city is commemorated in the building every year on 15 March.
