Alaeddin Mosque

Seljuk mosque on Alaeddin Hill. Work began under Mesud I in 1155 and continued under Kılıçarslan II and Kaykaus I; its inscription dates completion to 1220–1221 under Alaeddin Kayqubad I. Its ebony minbar of 1155 is among the earliest dated Seljuk works in Anatolia. A tomb in the courtyard holds the cenotaphs of Seljuk sultans. A restoration that began in 2014 was largely finished by 2020.
