About
Poyrazlar Lake Nature Park is a 231-hectare protected area in the Adapazarı district of Sakarya, set around Poyrazlar Lake, from which it takes its name. Declared in 2011, it lies about 8 km from the provincial centre and 5 km from Söğütlü, and can be reached by following the signs from the Adapazarı–Karasu highway or by public transport. The park's main assets are its natural forest and the lake. Pedunculate oak, Turkey oak, black pine, Scots pine, Turkish red pine and maritime pine dominate the woodland. The lake lies on an important bird migration route, and 154 bird species have been recorded here so far. Mammals such as the jackal, fox, squirrel and hedgehog live in the area, while the lake holds carp, pike and wels catfish. With country restaurants, kiosks, a jetty, picnic areas and playgrounds, the park is suited to walking, horseback nature tours, cycling and birdwatching.
Entry hours (DKMP, October 2026): 08:30–23:00.
