About

Dilburnu Nature Park is on Büyükada, in the Adalar district of İstanbul, and was designated in 2011. The park, about 6.88 hectares, is entirely forested, with Turkish red pine as the dominant species. After taking a ferry to the island from Sirkeci, Kabataş, Kadıköy, Bostancı or Kartal, visitors can reach the park on foot, by motorbike or by rented bicycle. Alongside red pine grow stone pine, blackthorn, holly, hackberry, Judas tree, rockrose, Spanish broom and ivy. The park is home to wild boar, squirrels, foxes, hedgehogs, hares, moles and magpies, and it lies on an important bird migration route. The pine-covered strip, which extends about 500 m towards the cape, has picnic spots, a children's playground and a country restaurant. Viewing terraces overlook the sea. A 1 km track in the park is used for walking, running and cycling, and day-use areas and toilets are also available.
