About the festival
The Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival is a cinema gathering organised by the Directorate General of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism together with the International Cinema Association. First held in Istanbul in 2021, it later moved to Bursa, Baku, Ashgabat and Aktau, and returns to Istanbul for its sixth edition. The programme brings together filmmakers from Turkic republics and communities and from member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States. It includes competitions for feature fiction, documentary and, for the first time this year, short film, plus special selections and industry meetings. The Crane Bird awards are presented at a ceremony on 7 November.
