Şile is on the Black Sea coast of Istanbul's Asian side. It is known for its lighthouse on a rocky headland, Şile Castle, long beaches and the cotton Şile cloth woven locally, and is a weekend escape from the city. Ağva, to the east, is a resort village where two streams meet the sea.
