About

Provincial museum founded in 1944 and moved to its present building in 1969. About 3,500 m² of galleries hold 1,752 objects that trace the province's history in chronological order from the Palaeolithic to the Ottoman period. Exhibits include the Katumuwa Stele, an orthostat of the storm god Teshub and a head of King Antiochus I of Commagene.
