Troy Historical National Park

Troy Historical National Park covers 13,627 hectares within the Ezine district of Çanakkale and was declared a national park in 1996. It is 29.8 km from the centre of Çanakkale and 25.7 km from Ezine. Ancient cities and historic buildings are among the park's listed attractions. The vegetation includes terebinth, myrtle, kermes oak, chaste tree, hairy rockrose, stone pine, Turkish red pine, valonia oak, wild pear, elm, cypress and almond. On the coastal dunes at Papaz Beach and Orhaniye beach, sea holly, sea spurge and other dune plants grow alongside wetland species such as tamarisk, reeds and rushes. The fauna includes grey mullet, goby, smooth newt, black kite, black stork, herons, bee-eater, hedgehog, ground squirrel, hare and edible dormouse. The area suits camping, trekking, cycling, photography, flora and fauna study, and birdwatching.
