Çanakkale's central district covers the town on the Asian shore of the Dardanelles and its surroundings. It is lively with its waterfront promenade, the Naval Museum in Çimenlik Castle, the Clock Tower, the wooden horse from the film Troy and cafés full of students; UNESCO-listed ancient Troy and the Troy Museum are in the south of the district. Ferries cross to Eceabat and Kilitbahir.
