About the festival
The International Ankara Theatre Festival is one of the capital's regular theatre gatherings and takes place for the 29th time in 2026. Over eleven days, theatre companies from Ankara perform alongside troupes from other Turkish cities and abroad. The opening ceremony presents honorary awards to people who have contributed to theatre. Last year's opening was held at the Doğan Taşdelen Contemporary Arts Centre in Çankaya. Performances are spread across theatre halls in the city, and the detailed schedule is announced on the festival's official website.
