Yumurtalık is a small district on the Gulf of İskenderun south-east of Adana; it is Ayas, a medieval port that Marco Polo passed through. The Süleyman Castle on the shore and the remains of a sea castle, the bird-rich Yumurtalık lagoon and quiet beaches are its main draws.
