About
A lake at 1,090 m, 19 km from Çaykara and about 99 km from Trabzon, formed when a landslide dammed the Haldizen Stream valley. The lake and its surroundings have been a nature park since 1989 (1,642 ha). It is ringed by steep slopes, forest and wooden houses; the Şekersu, Demirkapı and Yaylaönü lakes lie nearby.
