About

Çamlıkoy Nature Park is a protected area in the Saray district of Tekirdağ. Previously managed as a type-A picnic site, it was declared a nature park in 2011 with an area of 50.17 hectares, and its boundaries were enlarged to 88.54 hectares in 2024. The park lies about 130 km from Istanbul and is reached via the D020 highway, or by leaving the TEM motorway at the Çerkezköy exit and following the route through Saray. Bounded by streams to the north and south and by the sea to the east, the area combines forest and dune habitats. Sessile oak, Hungarian oak, hornbeam, ash, oriental plane, wych elm and alder are the dominant trees, with wild apple, wild pear, hawthorn, cornelian cherry, bay laurel and rockrose in the lower layers. Foxes, badgers, pine martens, roe deer and wild boar live here alongside woodcock, cormorants, storks and eagle owls; turbot, mullet and bonito are found in the sea, and trout and carp in the streams. With a country restaurant, kiosk, gazebos, showers and changing cabins, the park offers walking, camping and caravanning, photo safaris, picnics, angling, swimming and pedal boats.
