About
Two-storey, single-nave rock-cut church at the entrance to central Gülşehir. An inscription in the apse dates it to 1212. The lower level holds wine presses, tombs and water channels; the upper church has biblical scenes in yellow and brown on a black ground. A Last Judgement, a scene found in only a few churches of the region, covers the west and south walls. It was restored in 1995.
