About
Ömer Eşen Nature Park lies in the Fethiye district of Muğla, about 16 km from the town centre in the direction of Muğla. Registered as a Type A forest recreation site in 2003, it was declared a nature park on 11 July 2011. Its country cottages, sea and natural scenery make it a popular spot for tourism and recreation. Some 62 plant species, 13 reptile and amphibian species, 4 mammals and 11 bird species can be observed in and around it. Alongside Turkish red pine, sweetgum, oleander and myrtle live squirrels, hedgehogs, wild boar, jays, hoopoes, rock mice, spadefoot toads and tortoises. Buses from Fethiye's Köyler Garajı terminal stop at the road junction, about a 700-metre walk from the entrance. The park has a country restaurant, 21 cottages of various types, two two-storey terraced blocks of ten cottages each, a viewing terrace, a car park, showers, toilets and changing cabins.
