About

Çubucak Nature Park is a 20.53-hectare area at kilometre 20 of the Marmaris–Datça road in the Marmaris district of Muğla, declared a nature park on 11 July 2011. It lies within the Datça-Bozburun Specially Protected Area and a first-degree natural site. Since its entrance gate is right on the main road, buses on the Marmaris–Datça line drop visitors at the park without any transfer. Over the year, 197 plant species, 5 reptile and amphibian species, 7 mammal species and 44 bird species may be seen in and around the park. Turkish red pine, myrtle, bay laurel and oriental sweetgum stand out among the Mediterranean maquis, while commonly seen animals include the squirrel, jay, blackbird, sparrow, wood mouse and tortoise. With a campsite for 400 tents and 35 caravans plus a day-use area, the park can host about 2,000 people in total. Facilities include a shop, a country restaurant, a sports area, a wooden pier, a walking path, showers, laundry and dishwashing areas and a car park; visitors can walk, jog, swim and picnic.
