About

Neolithic settlement dating back about 9,000 years. Found in 1958 by James Mellaart, it was excavated in the 1960s and between 1993 and 2018 under Ian Hodder. The adjoining mudbrick houses were entered through the roof; hunting scenes and geometric designs on the walls and burials under the floors were found.
