Good to know
With the İzmirim Kart you get a 90-minute transfer window from your first boarding; on full, teacher, 60+ and youth fares the transfers inside that window are free. Re-boarding the same bus within 30 minutes does not count as a transfer, and there is a 5-minute protection period between two boardings.
On distance-priced bus lines the full fare of the line is held when you board; tap your card again when you get off and the difference for the distance travelled is refunded. İZBAN uses a similar 'artı para' system; to get the refund you must tap out within 3 hours.
In summer İZDENİZ runs ferries from Konak and Karşıyaka to Urla and Mordoğan. The 2026 season ran from 27 June to 13 September and tickets were sold online only (bilet.izdeniz.com.tr). Dates for the next season are announced by İZDENİZ.
Adnan Menderes Airport is about 18 km from the city centre. The İZBAN suburban train stops at the airport station, and ESHOT buses 200, 202, 204 and 206 leave from the arrivals hall exits. Havaş shuttles and taxis are also available on the arrivals level.
Under the ESHOT tariff, passengers aged 65 and over travel free on public transport; a personal senior card is required.
