Dede Terebinth Natural Monument

Dede Terebinth Natural Monument is an old terebinth (menengiç) tree in the Menemen district of İzmir. It was placed under protection as a natural monument on 6 May 2003. The tree is estimated to be 800 years old. It is 9.5 metres tall and its trunk has a circumference of 8.56 metres, making it quite stout for its modest height. The most recent assessment found that some of the branches in its crown have begun to dry out.
