About
Danamandıra Nature Park lies in the Silivri district of İstanbul, southwest of the Danamandıra neighbourhood and surrounded by state forest. The 381-hectare area was declared a nature park on 16 December 2015 and is 27 km from the Marmara coast and 20 km from the Black Sea coast. Deciduous oaks dominate the vegetation. The wetlands are covered with reeds, sedges, rushes, irises and water lilies, while grass-dominated meadows have formed where the oak woodland opens up at their edges. Hungarian oak, silver lime, alder, plane, chestnut, willow and white water lily are among the recorded species. The park's Büyükkokmuş and Küçükkokmuş lakes serve as stopover and breeding sites for migratory birds, and wels catfish and carp live in the water. Red fox, wolf, golden jackal, wild boar and roe deer have been recorded, as have birds such as cormorant, bittern, heron, stork and duck. Facilities include toilets, a small mosque, a wooden platform and jetty, and picnic units; nature walks and plant observation are possible.
Entry hours (DKMP, October 2026): 08:00–20:00.
