About
Huzurlu Nature Park is located at the Huzurlu Plateau in the İslahiye district of Gaziantep. Lying 129 km by road from the city of Gaziantep and 31 km from İslahiye, it is reached by turning onto the Tandır village road at kilometre 20 of the İslahiye–Hatay road. The last 10 km are steep and winding, so care is needed on snowy or icy winter days. The plateau's humid forests hold relict populations of species such as oriental beech, fir, hornbeam, yew and boxwood, whose main range lies in the Eastern Black Sea region and Central Europe; here they reach their southernmost limit. Some 1,580 plant taxa have been recorded on and around the Huzurlu Plateau, 251 of them endemic to Türkiye, including Taurus fir, Taurus cedar, Anatolian black pine, oriental plane and Judas tree. Animals seen in the park include bear, roe deer, wolf, deer, hyena and salamander. The area has not yet opened for operation; facilities such as camping and caravan areas, picnic tables and a car park are planned. For now, visitors use the site for day picnics and nature walks.
Entry hours (DKMP, October 2026): 08:00–18:00.
