About
The Çanakkale Epic Presentation Centre, at Kabatepe in the Eceabat district of Çanakkale, is a museum devoted to the Gallipoli Campaign. Opened on 7 June 2012, it presents the battles both in chronological order and by theme. The building was placed entirely underground to evoke the atmosphere of a war cemetery. At the entrance, two facing memorial walls stand for the Asian and European shores of the strait, and their light and dark colours symbolise peace and war. In 11 simulation rooms, some with moving platforms, key moments of the campaign are shown in a 65-minute presentation, and headphone commentary is offered in seven languages for foreign visitors. The two-storey exhibition halls use mannequins, dioramas and scale models, while trenches and military vehicles are set out in the open-air area. Exhibits include the bloodstained uniform of Captain Eşref Efendi, a statue and personal belongings of Mustafa Kemal, and a model of a period aircraft.
Opening hours (muze.gov.tr, October 2026): 09:00–17:00, ticket office closes at 16:15. Closed on Tuesdays. Paid entry.
