About
Alanya Museum, in the Alanya district of Antalya, was built in 1967 and holds a large number of objects relating to the history of the region. After renovation work completed in 2012, the exhibition was reorganised to tell the story of Alanya and its surroundings. The galleries are arranged under themes such as Anatolian civilisations, ships and seafaring, Alanya Castle and coins. The Heracles Hall is dedicated to a cast-bronze statue of Heracles from the 2nd century AD. Showcases in the main hall are grouped around mythology, trade, and sport and health, and also hold figurines, glassware and jewellery. The Hall of Anatolian Civilisations presents everyday objects of glass, bronze and terracotta, grave goods and sculptures from the Palaeolithic onwards. In the garden, an open-air display shows ostothecae, inscriptions from different periods and sarcophagi.
Opening hours (muze.gov.tr, October 2026): 08:30–19:30, ticket office closes at 19:00. Open daily. Paid entry; the Müzekart museum pass is accepted.
